Serving Him Ministry

"The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up only one body.  So it is with

the body of Christ."  1 Corinthians 12:12

About Us

Christian Evangelist Mike Drayton, and wife Debbie, love Serving Him in all they do.

This Ministry isn't "About Us" at all. It is all about Him. Jesus Christ; the only way to God the Father in Heaven.

We thank God each day for being able to live in Davie County and to have such a great community in which to call our home!

Why Serving Him?    Mike Drayton    Debbie Drayton    What We Believe    Mission Statement

WHY SERVING HIM?

We absolutely love to get away to the beach or the mountains, however, the love for that is small compared to the love we have for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. What is even more amazing is that our love for him is nothing compared to his love for us. (Ref: John 3:16-17)

The idea of the “Serving Him” Ministry has been a long time in the making. We have found that as Christians we can do no less than serve the one who gave his all for us. Serving for the Draytons has taken many forms over the years. The Good Life (Seniors), Single Adult’s Directors, Vacation Bible School for 12 years, AWANA Children’s ministry, Davie Pregnancy Care Center volunteer, Family movie night coordinators, kids soccer league coach at the Davie YMCA and "Upward" community basketball league co-organizers have all been activities that have allowed us to serve the Lord in the Davie County and surrounding communities.

We organized the “World” Premier showing of the Christian movie “Unidentified” on April 8th of 2006 and considered that a defining moment. Attendance that evening was 340 with 22 churches represented covering a span of 100 miles. The Spirit God’s people felt that evening by coming together was awesome. The best part by far of that night was the 3 precious souls who came to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior from that event. From this came a firm conviction from God and we now feel led to use our energy in continuing to bring the Christian community together in various ways that are enthusiastic in nature and will further strengthen the ties that bind us all as well as working towards the goal of seeing the lost come to personally accept Jesus as Lord.

Praise the Lord from whom all Blessings flow!

My husband Mike has always worked hard at everything he has ever taken part in. When he told me about the Lord convicting him about starting a Christian Ministry, I knew I couldn't stop him. He learned from his 23 years in the United States Air Force how to succeed and not give up until the goal is achieved. He has told me that his goal for the Serving Him Ministry is to see area churches really come together, and get serious, about Jesus Christ. The goal he says isn't just having fun with one another but to grow the Kingdom of God. He has that look in his eyes that he gets when he is on a mission so all I can say is look out. His love for Church and Family is second to none and I'm so proud of the man he is and that he follows the convictions placed in his heart by his true Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

My wife Debbie isn't just a wife but much more so my best friend. I have been so blessed that the Lord almighty chose to bring to me a woman of Debbie's caliber. She is extremely loving and is able to show compassion even to those folks who are less than loving in our midst. She is the world's greatest MaMaw and when I can't find her I know where to call as most likely she is with a grandson somewhere. We have two grandsons here in Davie County and two more in Macon, Georgia. Four boys will keep anyone busy that's for sure! Debbie's greatest attribute above all else, by far, is her love of Jesus. She works with all the kids in our churches AWANA ministry and hasn't missed a VBS in years. She doesn't just say that she loves Jesus, she lives the life that proves it. I am one fortunate man to be able to call Debbie my wife and thank God each day for her and our home here in Mocksville, in the great state of North Carolina!

WHAT WE BELIEVE
Eternal Salvation is simple. The Bible is very clear on these things:

God's Love = Everlasting Life (John 3:16)

God's Plan = Abundant Life (John 10:10)

Man is Sinful = For all have sinned...(Romans 3:23)

Man Is Separated from God = For the wages of sin is death...(Romans 6:23)

Jesus Died In Our Place = while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

Christ died for our sins... He was buried... He was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures… (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

Jesus Is the Only Way to God = Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father but through Me. (John 14:6)

We Must Receive Christ =As many as received Him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name. (John 1:12)

When We Receive Christ, We Experience a New Birth =
(Read John 3:1-8)

We Receive Christ Through a Personal Invitation = If any one hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him... (Revelation 3:20)

You Can Receive Christ Right Now by Faith Through Prayer = Prayer is talking with God.

God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart.

The following is a suggested prayer:

Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.
Does this prayer express the desire of your heart? If it does, I invite you to pray this prayer right now, and Christ will come into your life, as He promised.

Now that you have received Jesus Christ; Please go to the "Contact Us" page on this website and E-Mail this ministry so that we might rejoice with you in the decision you have made. Get involved with a strong Bible believing Church immediately right here in our community and may God bless you abundantly!

MISSION STATEMENT

The Serving Him Ministry has one main objective and that is to bring the Christian Community together. Coming together publicly, along with serving those in need within the neighborhoods served by the church, are keys to the ministry. The gatherings consisting of all denominations of the Christian faith will display to the entire community that the common bond of eternal salvation through the redemptive blood of Jesus Christ is stronger than the minor differences between each denomination. Let it be said; People will come to know Jesus Christ as they “see” those who know Jesus Christ living for him.

I Corinthians 12:12 states: “The Human body has many parts, but the many parts make up only one body. So it is with the body of Christ.”

I Peter 3:15 states: “But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,”

The Serving Him Ministry has a three-tier approach to meeting the main objective.

1. Public Events: Planning, Organizing, Publicizing and Holding the various Christian Community events. The leaders within each church will be instrumental in getting out the word to the children of God, their flock. Serving Him will gladly volunteer to help promote Ministry planned events at any church, as that church leader desires.

2. Serving Those in Need: The Ministry is about Serving Him. To meet that goal the ministry will donate a block of time each month, to various churches, and assist those churches in meeting the needs of the congregations they serve. The minor work performed, visitations to shut-ins and the lonely, local transportation for medical appointments, etc. will be at no cost to the individuals served.

3. Promoting Individual Church Activities: The Ministry will use the powerful tools at its disposal to help promote any individual church activities that church desires. The ministry prays that all planned activities, at each church, be filled with joy and have the greatest turnout possible to generate the electric feeling found in worshiping Jesus Christ. This will be done via Ministry web-site calendars, e-mails, newsletters, word of mouth and the like.
